Davies to take on key role

The band has taken a significant step forward in its drive for future success with the appointment of Chris Davies as its Strategic Development Officer.

It is the latest mark of the desire to draw on talents past and present and follows on from the highly respected C Brian Buckley taking on the role of Band President earlier in the year.

Commercial experience

Chris has returned to the band after a five-year absence, and with extensive high level commercial experience to call upon, MD Ian Porthouse believes he has an essential joint role to play as Tredegar looks to build a business profile every bit as innovative as its artistic one.

“Having Chris back has given everyone a huge boost,” he said. “His outstanding playing is a given, but it’s his desire to combine that with his professional business acumen that makes it even more exciting. He has an essential role to play in the future of the band - one which will encompass what we want to do both on and off the contest and concert platform.”

New avenues and opportunities

I’m delighted to be back as a player and to be part of the band’s management team. The creation of this role is a crucial marker of the band’s commitment to long term excellence in everything we do - Chris Davies

Band Vice-President Iwan Fox added: “This is a major new development for the band – and one that we have been in need of for some time. The appointment will open new avenues and opportunities, giving us further impetus to maintain our position as one of the best and most innovative bands in the world.”

Chris himself added: “I’m delighted to be back as a player and to be part of the band’s management team. The creation of this role is a crucial marker of the band’s commitment to long term excellence in everything we do.”
